Guidelines

We look forward to having you in The Rice Bowl Awards! Here are the some helpful guidelines to ensure the process goes smoothly.

General Criteria for Nomination

  • Company/Organisation must be a registered business entity in one (1) or more ASEAN countries
  • Company/Organisation was formed/incorporated on or after 1 January 2010
  • Company/Organisation is fully operational and has started offering its services, products or programs to their intended “customers”
  • CEO and/or founders run the business full-time
  • The business uses technology, social media and/or modern business strategies to deliver the product or service

For specific criteria for each category, please take a look at the “Award Categories” page.

Tips for Filling Up the Online Nomination Form

The nomination form is fairly detailed because we need as much information as possible about your startup. We recommend that:

  1. Save your work. Use the “Save Draft” button and we will email you the link to your draft submission so you can come back to it later.
  2. Enter 1 or more categories. You are allowed to enter more than 1 category – as long as you meet the minimum criteria for that specific category.
  3. Fill up as many fields as possible BEYOND the compulsory ones. The more information we have, the better our judging.
  4. We highly recommend you also submit a short YouTube video of your company
  5. Don’t forget to click the “Submit Nomination” button at the bottom of the form when you are done.
  6. No more changes AFTER submission. After you press Submit, you can no longer make changes to the nomination form and your nomination is then officially accepted.
  7. During the judging process, we may contact you for additional information.

Your Commitment as a Finalist of the Rice Bowl Startup Awards

If your company is announced as one of the Top 30 finalists of the Rice Bowl Startup Awards, you must commit to the following:

  1. Attend the media coaching sessions (likely to be held online)
  2. Be willing to attend media engagement sessions and interviews
  3. Be willing to engage with our investment analysts regarding your funding requirements
  4. At least one (1) co-founder must attend the 1AES Summit in Kuala Lumpur from 20-22 November 2015 and also attend the Rice Bowl Awards Gala Night on the last day of the 1AES Summit.
